The digital revolution has to go hand in hand with reviving an “at eye level” approach

In the Global Village digital technologies have fully transformed the world we used to live in. Only in few places you can see an impact as remarkable as on the African continent with unknown implications for the future. Potentially the continent could leapfrog the traditional industrialisation phase in favour of the creation of a knowledge economy. This would have an impact beyond the African continent: African countries will become global economic actors on an equal footing as knowledge societies. Despite future scenarios, current global developments and the rise of ICT in Africa have made it more relevant than ever to finally bring some substance beyond the term “partnership at eye level”.
