To enforce EU rules for online platforms, Germany needs a new supervisory body. What agency should be in charge has been been a hotly contested debate for a while. But what's at least as important is how this oversight should work - and that's what SNV project director Julian Jaursch's talk on the Digital Services Act (DSA) at re:publica 23 is about: How can flexible, strong and independent oversight structures be achieved? How can the platform regulator involve civil society and academic expert in its work?
