EU Cyber Direct

Under the research theme International Cyber Security Policy, the Stiftung Neue Verantwortung is working on the EU-funded project “EU Cyber Direct” in collaboration with the European Union Institute for Security Studies (EUISS) and the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF). The project aims to support EU Cyber Diplomacy through engagement with with stakeholders from government, private sector and civil society in strategic partner countries and regions.

The EU Cyber Direct project will consist of workshops, conferences, and policy papers exploring key themes such as: international law in cyberspace; confidence building measures; and resilience. The project will engage the EU’s strategic partners for cyber dialogue: Brazil, China, South Korea, United States, Japan, and India as well as Latin America, and Asia-Pacific as regions. SNV will spearhead the engagements with the United States, Japan, and India.

The cyber-diplomacy and resilience-policy landscapes are constantly evolving. This makes ongoing dialogue and engagement even more important. The project seeks to strengthen networks and relations between the EU and key target countries and regions. EU Cyber Direct also seeks to support knowledge exchange and best-practice sharing across the globe to contribute to the improvement of trust and security in cyberspace.
