For the first time in Germany, the 2021 election campaign saw almost all major parties committing in writing to a fair digital campaign. These "codes of conduct" were developed in part because of concrete proposals coming from civil society and academia, for example, via the "Campaign Watch" initiative, which SNV was involved in. In an opinion piece for the newsletter "Tagesspiegel Background Digitalisierung & KI", SNV project director Julian Jaursch analyzes what lessons can be drawn from the voluntary commitments and what reforms are now necessary (text in German).
