Project Director "The Common Good and Digitisation"
Leonie Beining is leading the project "ExamAI - AI Testing and Auditing", which the Stiftung Neue Verantwortung is conducting in cooperation with the Gesellschaft für Informatik, the Algorithmic Accountability Lab at the TU Kaiserslautern, the Institute for Legal Informatics at the University of Saarbrücken and Fraunhofer IESE. In the project, Leonie is responsible for identifying policy recommendations for implementing suitable testing and auditing procedures for AI systems in the fields of industrial production and human resource management.
Previously, Leonie was project leader in the project "Algorithms for the Common Good" and dealt in this context mainly with the aspect of transparency and intelligibility of algorithmic decision processes. At the beginning of her time at the SNV, Leonie was project manager in the project "Public Welfare in the Digital Age" and developed strategies to enable civil society actors to become more involved in shaping digitization.
Before joining SNV, she worked with the Global Issues Division of the German Institute for International and Security Affairs. Leonie holds a Master in Politics and Public Administration from the University of Potsdam and a Bachelor from the University of Konstanz. During her studies, she studied abroad at Sciences Po Lille and at the University of Bergen.
