Leo Hennecke

Student Assistant "Digital Rights, Surveillance and Democracy"

Leo Hennecke supports the project "Digital Basic Rights, Surveillance and Democracy" as a student assistant.

He is currently studying law at the Georg-August University of Göttingen. In his B.A. in International Relations, he focused on the interplay of technological innovation and social change from a historical perspective. During a one-year research fellowship for archival research in Oxford and London with the German Academic Scholarship Foundation, he investigated mechanisms driving the evolution of steamship technology and its impact on British foreign policy in the late 19th century.

Before joining SNV, he gained work experience at the German Embassy in South Africa, a foreign trade association in Berlin, the Chair of Economic Policy of Civey founder Prof. Dr. Oliver Serfling and at various NGOs.
