Cybersecurity Policy Exercise in Kosovo

Workshop

On June 24, 2022, the Stiftung Neue Verantwortung’s "International Cybersecurity Policy" team facilitated an in-person cybersecurity policy exercise in Prizren. Previously, the cybersecurity policy exercise was designed and adapted to the country based on a pre-workshop with local cybersecurity policy experts focusing on Kosovo’s cybersecurity policy.

The interactive and discussion-based tabletop exercise revolved around a downstream supply chain incident affecting critical infrastructure and small and medium-sized enterprises in Kosovo. The exercise brought together participants from the government, the private sector, civil society organizations, and academic institutions that worked on the analytical and strategic analysis of a cyber incident. They practiced the collaboration and communication of institutions on the national level, information sharing between different organizations, and the assessment and analysis of such an incident. The exercise was preceded by an input from a representative of the Office of the Prime Minister of Kosovo.

The exercise was commissioned by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) as part of the Trust4Cyber initiative and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The Innovation & Training Park Prizren and the Digital Transformation Center supported the organization of the exercise.
