#Crypto18 – Germany's Encryption Policy

Sven Herpig was invited to present an overview of Germany's encryption policies at the annual Crypto conference in Santa Barbara. Crypto is organized by the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR) and brings together leading experts to discuss state-of-the-art cryptography research. Sven was joined on the panel by James Bakes (former FBI, now Brookings, United States), Adam Ingle (Department of Home Affairs, Australia), Ian Levy (Nation Cyber Security Center, United Kingdom) and Cindy Cohn (Electronic Frontier Foundation). Their panel entitled "Global overview of developments in encryption and surveillance policy and law" set the stage for the workshop on Encryption and Surveillance.
