Many think tanks are becoming increasingly aware of the need for a more structured approach to diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI). Where DEI roles exist in think tanks, they are often occupied informally by HR officers or researchers with a personal passion for these topics. During our conversations with think tank employees, we have come to realize that the lack of clear responsibilities and recommendations for a Diversity Officer significantly complicates their work.
